An AU in which Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger are the Head Prefects and Albus Dumbledore is still alive.
“Where did you say you bought those cards from, Albus?” Minerva McGonagall asks, slightly horrified by the Headmaster’s antics. She understands the need for House Unity, especially as more news of Voldemort’s rise permeate their walls, she does. She just cannot grasp the gravity of the situation as Albus Dumbledore directly proportions it to using a stack of blood-splattered cards and some fairly dark spells.
Her companion smiles, he chuckles, with a twinkle in his eyes, he says, “I didn’t. Do not be unnerved, Minerva. I have great faith in our Head Prefects.”
“I have faith in them both, of course I do. Individually. But Albus, Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger! I hope, for Merlin’s sake, that you know what you are doing!” And with a great flourish uncharacteristic of her, the head of Gryffindor House walks away.
That night, from an elegantly organized room in the Slytherin dungeons and a book-filled room in the Gryffindor tower, the Head Boy and the Head Girl disappear.
Not mine. I just wanted to have them together and in order.
this is glorious
